UK Food Hygiene Council Performance
I thought it would be fun to rate councils food hygiene performance. Councils spend a considerable amount of money to check and rate premises to ensure the safety of the general public.
A lot of councils are failing to share this information in a timely manner.
Delays in publishing bad reports puts the public at risk.
Delays in publishing good reports can harm a business's trade.
The best councils are able to publish 5 star ratings 2 days after an inspection. The worst are over 2 months.
The best councils update the national database several times a week. The worst can only manage once a month.
I've also penalised councils for having old data on file. There is no point in having a rating if it's older than 2 years.
